Have you ever tried Japanese curry bread?
It is a popular Japanese Street food. It consists of Japanese curry wrapped in a piece of dough, which is then coated in breadcrumbs & sesame seeds and deep fried. Most Japanese bakeries in London offer a baked version instead of deep fried, but deep frying is the most common method of cooking it in Japan and it’s the key to perfection! We are one of a few bakeries which offers a fried version.

Kanazawa is a Japanese owned bakery specialised in curry bread and sells its curry bread mainly through events or local markets.

Dough
All of our bread dough is hand-kneaded and specially tailored for deep fried bread and are always made to order. You might think a fried bread would be heavy but our dough is customised for fried bread and does not absorb much oil so you can enjoy a light texture. In addition, by incorporating a unique Japanese baking technique - Tangzhong, our curry bread has a long-lasting crispy & moist texture and you can enjoy prolonged freshly-fried-ness.

Curry Filling
We simmer vegetables for a long time until they become a flavourful puree, which enhances the sweetness of the vegetables. The rough minced beef is cooked to leave a juicy firm texture. They are then stewed together with our Japanese curry spices until it thickens, which is a perfect combination with our slightly sweet bread dough.
We have prepared a range of curry breads based on this filling by adding toppings such as cheese or a sausage so you can enjoy a wider variety of fours.
A new filling/toppings will be soon added as a limited line-up on a regular basis.

Freshness
All our breads are made to be served fresh. The breads are raised and fried for a market in front of you, and just before packing for online products.
Freshly fried bread is super fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside.
We use a specially designed bag for our online products in collaboration with PAN For YOU from Japan. This bag will preserve the freshness as it is with their licensed technology and you can enjoy our curry breads at home anytime as if it was just fried in front of you.
